Overview
Arignar Anna Zoo Chennai (commonly also known as Vandalur Zoo) was opened in 1985 and is spread across around 1,500 acres.
Home to around 2,500 animals across 170+ species.
The Zoo also includes an Aquarium, a butterfly park and Lion and Deer Safari for additional costs.
Some of the major attractions that can be usually found in the Zoo are White Tiger, Lion, Bison, Sloth, Hippo, Jaguar, Leopard, King Cobra and Flamingos.
Know Before You Go
Plan to spend 4-5 hours in the Zoo if you are planning to walk.
It is recommended to book tickets online or using WhatsApp.
Generally good parking space is available. Check out the zoo website for parking rates.
Electric cars and bicycles are available for rent to move within the zoo. However, one needs to arrive early as they are first come first serve.
